Q - The products are made from the same ingredients, how are they different?
A - Gut Health+ is a 'fibre' isolate crushed whole hemp seed, containing the hulls (the shell) and hearts (the seed)
The Vitality+ is a tripled milled 'protein' isolate.
The Omega+ is cold pressed hemp seed oil.
All 3-products are unique and target different physiological aspects of the horse
Q - Do any of the products contain other vitamins and minerals?
A - The Vitality+ is high in Magnesium, Zinc, Potassium, Phosphorus, Calcium and Vitamins A,B,C & E
Q - Can we feed flaxseed/linseed oil as well as hemp oil?
A - we recommend feeding one or the other. Hemp seed oil is more concentrated than any of your other oils so you do not need to feed as much. it has a perfect balanced ration of the Omegas as well as another powerful natural anti-inflammatory, Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA). GLA helps fight inflammation on all levels, from infection, skin disorders, arthritis to cell damage.
Q - What is the difference between Gut Health+ and other gut supplements on the market?
A - Gut Health+ is high in fibre, low in starch and contains no sugar, ideal for laminitic horses, highly strung horses and sugar sensitive horses. Hemp is unique as it promotes the production of short chain fatty acids in the colon via fermentation, an excellent hind gut buffer. It also promotes a colony of healthy bacteria and natural digestive enzymes for optimal food conversion. Hemp increases the prostaglandins (PGE-1), which are responsible for increasing the mucous production in the gastrointestinal tract. It coats the GI tract in a soothing mucous which helps to combat the occurrence of gastric ulcers.
Q - I want increased muscle and top line. Which product do you recommend I feed to my horse?
A - We recommend the Vitality+, a hypoallergenic plant based protein with no sugar, soy or whey. it is excellent for building top line and condition in the most natural way.
Q - My horse suffers from ulcers, which product do you recommend?
A - We recommend both our Gut Health+ and Omega+. Hemp is unique in that it triggers the prostaglandin production (PGE-1). The only other natural source that will trigger this response is primrose plant, however it is toxic to horses. Prostaglandins are a group of lipids made at sites of tissue damage or infection that are involved in dealing with injury and illness. They also control and aid processes such as inflammation, blood flow, the formation of blood clots. This is prevalent especially if you have bleeding ulcers resulting in iron deficiency. Prostaglandins coat the inflamed GI tact in a healing mucosa which reduces gastric acid secretion and also acts a as protective barrier against the abrasive gastric juices. Ulcer treatments, such as Omeprazole, essentially do the exact same thing but are not natural and are manufactured synthetically.
Q - Will the Omega+ oil make my horse hot?
A - No, it is cool and non-heating. If anything, you may notice your horse is calmer, relaxed, less anxious and focused.
Q - Can you feed High Horse Products to horses that are suffer from laminitis?
A - As there is no sugar it is safe to feed to horses that are sugar sensitive or suffer from laminitis.
Q - Are there any other ingredients in High Horse products?
A - Just one ingredient, all natural Australian grown hemp seed
Q - Can I water down my feed with High Horse supplements?
A - You can water down your feed with cold or warm water. However, we do not recommend water over a 100 degrees.
